The Magic of Oil-Absorbing Labels

Oil Absorbent Labels

Oil Absorbent Labels For Oily Surfaces...

We know that labelling compliance is a critical part of manufacturing and business. In some industries, however, particularly automotive and manufacturing, labelling becomes difficult due to the oily nature of the application.

Oily surfaces are notoriously difficult to clean down and prepare for label adhesion, often requiring thorough cleaning, drying and, in some cases, chemicals to fully prepare the application's surface for a standard label.

This is a tedious and time-consuming activity, impacting more important activities and productivity.

Romark's unique oil-absorbing label adhesive counters this problem, by providing an oil-absorbing label that can be applied on top of oily surfaces.

How Does It Work?  The adhesive reacts with the oil, soaking it into the adhesive and in the process creating a stronger adhesive bond to the application. However, Oil Absorbent labels aren't magic, but they're close! They don't soak up oil like a sponge, the surface area must still be wiped first with a dry material. In the example below, we used Engine Oil and wiped the Oil with nothing but some tissue paper to create a wider oily surface area for the label.

After that, we applied the label and waited approximately 30 minutes for the label to adhere.

There can be a lot to consider when choosing the correct label for the job, which is why we always advise speaking with one of our labelling experts to get the correct label for your application, bespoke to your requirements.
